THE HAVEN is a private fishing pond situated in North East Lincolnshire just outside the village of Tetney and near to the towns of Grimsby and Cleethorpes. Close to nature and set in open countryside, it provides a secluded, picturesque setting where peace and tranquillity prevail. For the privilege few, there is the opportunity to sit in pleasant surroundings and enjoy angling at its best. For the bird lovers there are the sights and sounds of a vast variety of feathered friends including the almost daily visit of a Kingfisher.

The pond is well stocked with most varieties of freshwater fish with carp the dominant species - both Commons and Mirrors. These fighting fish are mostly lured with floating baits and from time to time specimens over 20lbs are captured. For the traditional angler fishing on the bottom for the good sized Roach and Bream is preferred, thus avoiding the shoals of small Rudd, though there are some of these that can reach up to 2lbs in weight. Occasionally, for the lucky few, there will be a pleasant surprise when a good sized Tench (up to 4 lbs) or Perch (up to 3 lbs) is caught.

Whilst the use of ground bait is not allowed at the pond scattered hook bait is permitted. There is a "no guests" rule - whether fishing or not. Barbless hooks are to be used at all times and all fish are to be returned to the water without delay. Although there are 30 pegs one acre pond the numbers fishing are restricted and from time to time there is a waiting list.
